Overview:

Valley Water is looking for a subject matter expert in warehouse logistics, inventory distribution and supply chain management, to streamline and optimize warehouse distribution and inventory operations.

The Supervising Program Administrator would be responsible for establishing and administering Valley Water’s Storage Management Program and Warehouse Par Location Program which would enhance warehouse, inventory, and storage management at Valley Water facilities. In addition, this position will also administer Valley Water’s Uniform Program, maintain operations, and supervise four Inventory Control Technicians in the Warehouse.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supervises staff to plan, direct, manage, and oversee, the activities and operations of complex, management-designated warehouse programs; to serve as a subject matter expert and resource for assigned programs, including administrative, budgetary, financial, and compliance research analysis.
• Establishes and maintains inventory, warehousing, and distribution standards and procedures. Ensures that all materials are stored in a safe and orderly manner and in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Conducts research related to operations, process improvement/efficiencies, and develop and maintain performance measurements and tools to assess impact from management decisions; analyze findings and prepare appropriate reports and analysis.
• Develop, administer, and/or manage Valley Water’s Storage Management Program, Uniform Program, Warehouse Par Location Pilot Program. These programs support Valley Water’s core operations, including projects, for both Water Utility and Watersheds.
• Develop scope of work for Warehouse related contracts, manage contract terms and conditions and assist in the planning and preparation of the annual budget and other necessary reports.

Ideal Experience:

• Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in warehouse/logistics/inventory programs including one (1) year in experience planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing various projects or programs, or serving as a subject matter expert or advisor.
• Experience implementing programs related to warehouse/logistics/inventory.
• Experience developing written reports.
• Experience managing commodity or service contracts related to warehousing and inventory logistics.
• Assist in the development and application of a program annual budget; prepare revenue and expense projections needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; approve expenditures and implement budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary.

• Manage and direct comprehensive programs.
• Develop and administer assigned program goals, objectives, and procedures.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• Juggle competing priorities and complete tasks on time independently with minimal supervision.
• Good judgment, problem solving and the ability to think on their feet.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organization skills.

Ideal Knowledge:

• Principles, practices, methods, and tools of warehouse/logistics/inventory program’s underlying subject matter.
• Principles and practices of program development, administration, and evaluation.
• Applicable laws and regulatory codes related to warehouse safety (e.g. warehouse equipment, storage of hazardous materials).

Ideal Training and Education:
Education:

• Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration or related field.

Substitution:
Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.

Required License or Certificate
